Scoring Struggles Hurt Utes in 57-52 loss to Arizona St…

February 10, 2012

By ESPN 700

Carrick Felix scored 15 points, including a pair of critical free throws with 11.7 seconds to play, and Arizona State held off Utah 57-52 on Thursday night, sending the Utes to their fifth straight loss and 11th in 12 games.

Their lone victory in that span was a 64-43 rout of Arizona State in Salt Lake City on Jan. 21. Trent Lockett had 12 points, along with an assist on Felix’s dunk with 47 seconds remaining, in his first game back after missing six games with a sprained right ankle. The Sun Devils had gone 1-5 in Lockett’s absence.

Chris Hines was the only player in double figures for Utah (5-19, 2-10) with 10 points, but he made just 3 of 15 shots.
